Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal is the process wherein a certified technician employs laser technology in a safe and controlled environment to quickly treat small or large areas of hair to be permanently removed by targeting and impeding the further growth of hair in the specific area(s).

Laser Hair Removal uses advanced laser technology to target and damage hair follicles, preventing further hair growth in the treated areas. It is a safe and effective solution for permanent hair reduction.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Laser hair removal uses pulses to selectively destroy actively growing hair follicles by targeting the melanin (color) in them. The melanin absorbs the laser's light pulse, which travels down to destroy the root of the hair and its surrounding structures.

What is a laser hair removal treatment like?

A treatment can last from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the size and number of areas being treated. Before the treatment, your technician will ask important medical-related questions, and you'll prep the area by removing deodorant, covering tattoos, and wiping off any makeup, sunscreen, or lotion. Protective eye gear will be provided. During the treatment, you can relax while the technician works. Post-treatment, soothing cream and aftercare instructions will be provided.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Experiences vary; some find it stings, while others are unbothered. The sensation is often compared to a rubber band snap. Technicians assess your pain tolerance and can provide prescription numbing cream to apply before your appointment. The laser machine also has a chiller to cool your skin during the treatment, and stress balls are available for comfort.

Which lasers do you use?

Euro Laser Services uses the Candela GentleLase (an Alexandrite Laser) and the Nd:YAG. These lasers are safe and effective for all skin types and can precisely penetrate hair follicles without damaging surrounding tissue.

Are results permanent?

Laser hair removal results are long-lasting but not always permanent. Some hair may regrow, but it is typically finer and lighter than before. Maintenance treatments may be required.

How do I prepare for a laser hair removal treatment?

Discontinue waxing or tweezing six weeks before treatment. Avoid sun exposure and spray tans two weeks beforehand.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments varies based on hair density and the area being treated. Multiple sessions are needed because only hair follicles in the active growth stage can be targeted. Typically, 4-10 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart are recommended.

Who can't get laser hair removal?

While the lasers treat all skin types, they cannot treat body hair that is blonde, red, grey, or white due to the lack of pigment.
