MEDICAL THREAD LIFT VIA THE MEDYGLOBAL SCREWCOG METHODIn true Euro Laser fashion, Liz DiBartolo, the spa's owner, and Dr. Adam Messenger, its medical director, traveled to Miami to train with Medyglobal professionals and became certified in this cutting edge, FDA-approved, natural alternative to a surgical facelift. The Madrid-based Medyglobal impressed them with its outstanding reputation and long history. The thread lift itself isn’t new, but the methods have improved dramatically. Advocates of "safety first," the pair are now very excited to offer this service to Euro Laser's clientele.
Medical threading is based on the implantation of multiple spiral mini- threads that create a vector network acting as a tensor support of the tissues. It is a semi-invasive procedure performed within a couple of hours that allows the client to avoid the scarring and other side effects of more serious surgery. Barbed threads are used under loose skin to pull and tighten, redefining facial planes and restoring volume. In the past, the procedure involved permanent barbed sutures that could cause scarring and infections, but the sutures now are comprised of polydioxanone (PDO), which is used in cardiovascular surgery and absorbs into the skin. After six months or so, the threads dissolve. |

Frequently asked questions
WHO IS THIS PROCEDURE FOR?
The best candidates for a thread lift are men or women in their 30's to 60's who have perhaps only just begun to experience sagging of the face or neck, but do not yet have excessively loose skin. Instead of removing sagging facial skin with surgery, the thread lift involves injecting tiny sutures into the skin that pull and tighten the underlying dermis. This can be performed around the eyes, lips, jowls, forehead, chin, and neck. The threads also stimulate the production of collagen, helping to improve the skin’s hydration, firmness and tone. The result is a youthful yet natural look.

WHO WILL PERFORM MY TREATMENT?
Dr. Messenger, a physician with Greenwich Hospital (and Euro Laser's Medical Director) has extensive experience in injections of a similar nature in the hospital environment, and he performs the procedure at Euro Laser. He explains that there are different sized needles — some as small as acupuncture needles — depending on the area to be treated and the amount of facial volume loss from aging. Since Euro Laser introduced the procedure early this year, results have been overwhelmingly successful.

DOES MEDICAL THREADING HURT?Dr. Messenger begins by using a numbing agent – topical for the smaller areas and a lidocaine injection for the larger ones — then marks the area to be treated and inserts the threads. The entire procedure is very quick. Treating the vertical lip lines takes no longer than five minutes. There is virtually no downtime. Makeup can even be applied immediately afterwards. There can be some initial irritation and redness at the injection site. Results can be immediate, with the full effect manifested in 21 days.
